Concerts in Close Quarters
Concerts in Close Quarters brings the experience of chamber music listening back to its roots with intimate performances in residence halls. These standing-room-only concerts and demonstrations allow our visiting ensembles to connect with UC San Diego students in a casual environment where classical masters and contemporary composers can be discovered.
Film Practicum
ArtPower! recognizes that creative learners make creative teachers, and teaching and learning go both ways. In spring 2012, ArtPower! Film, Sixth College, and the Department of Visual Arts, along with High Tech High Media Arts, will launch a ten-week creative mentorship program for university students to work with film production students at High Tech High Media Arts. Learning together and creating together—this is what ArtPower! collaborations are all about!
Master Classes
ArtPower! offers opportunities for emerging student artists to receive personal instruction from world-class dancers and performers. Whether it’s a lesson from a visiting chamber ensemble or a workshop taught by a guest dancer, master classes provide that spark of inspiration that enables students to continue on the path to excellence.
Tritons for the Arts (TRIARTS)
Composed of undergraduate and graduate students from diverse areas of study, ArtPower!’s first ever Tritons for the Arts committee will help extend and supplement the intellectual and cultural life at UC San Diego. By providing a forum for the committee members to interact with artists, exchange and express ideas, and develop hands-on arts activities and events as a part of the ArtPower! program, TRIARTS will become an intrinsic part of student arts programming at UCSD.
